Job summary

Talent Insights Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Melbourne to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and decision-making across the organisation.

You will work with engineers, architects and stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure data platforms, drive governance, and contribute to evolving engineering standards in a large enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Experience designing cloud-based data platforms at enterprise scale.
• Strong SQL and Python development skills.
• DataOps practices including Git, CI/CD, automated testing and deployment.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, lineage and security.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable, high‑performance data pipelines.
• Develop and enhance enterprise cloud data platforms and modern data architecture.
• Drive Data Engineering and DataOps practices to improve reliability, quality and delivery.
• Influence architectural decisions focusing on scalability, performance and cost.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
• Document data lineage, metadata, and specifications to support governance.
