Job summary

Slalom is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our data practice in Australia. You’ll work with teams to deliver data solutions on AWS, Azure, and GCP, building modern data platforms and collaborating with clients to enable analytics and ML initiatives.

You’ll partner with a Solution Architect, design data pipelines, and contribute to data modeling, ETL processes, and best practices across projects. A strong team culture and growth mindset are valued.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python as core programming languages.
• Strong experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with data warehousing and lakehouse platforms (Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks, Synapse).
• Experience with ETL/ELT tooling (Fivetran, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory).
• Experience with big data processing (EMR, Spark, Databricks).
• Knowledge of data modeling and ETL/ELT best practices; familiarity with Iceberg/Delta Lake.
• CI/CD and DevOps practices; version control with Git.
• Agile environments and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Deliver innovative data solutions on AWS, Azure, and GCP using core warehouse tools.
• Build the next generation of data platforms for forward-thinking orgs in data and analytics.
• Work under a Solution Architect to design and implement components of client data platforms.
• Participate in design sessions; break down tasks and complete development items on time.
