Job summary

Insight Enterprises is seeking a Senior Consultant - Data Engineer in Melbourne (Hybrid). You will design and deliver enterprise data platforms leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services and Databricks to drive analytics, AI and informed decisions.

You will guide clients through discovery sessions, build scalable pipelines using SQL, Python and PySpark, and contribute to technical leadership and governance within the practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of relevant data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL development, data modelling and ETL/ELT expertise.
• Experience delivering Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services and Databricks.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with source control, CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps; data security & governance.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver modern data platforms using Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, and Databricks (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Medallion).
• Facilitate discovery sessions with clients to translate objectives into data architecture and engineering designs.
• Build reliable batch and near real-time data pipelines using SQL, Python, PySpark and Azure Data Factory; implement secure engineering practices and governance.
• Contribute to technical leadership, QA, reusable IP and mentoring within the practice.
