Job summary

Fusion5 is seeking a talented Data Architect to join our team. You'll work with customers to understand their business processes, data challenges, and future needs, translating these into practical, scalable, and well-governed data architectures.

This role goes beyond high-level architecture diagrams. You'll lead data modelling and architecture design for both operational and analytical use cases, ensuring secure, traceable, and maintainable solutions across cloud ecosystems in Melbourne, Sydney

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data architecture, senior data engineering, or technical consulting delivery.
• Strong hands-on experience in logical and physical data modelling and relational design.
• Experience designing data solutions with lifecycle, history, and governance in mind.
• Knowledge of API-driven and batch ingestion patterns and data flows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of scalable, secure, and well-governed data architectures tailored to customer needs.
• Design logical and physical data models for enterprise and operational systems, supporting integration and reporting.
• Define data structures for API-driven ingestion, lifecycle management, auditability, and regulatory traceability.
• Apply strong relational database design and normalization practices, including history-aware modelling.
