Job summary

Xero is seeking a Senior Data & AI Governance Specialist to define how we treat data as a strategic asset and govern AI responsibly, bridging policy and practice across teams to enable safe experimentation and trusted customer outcomes.

You will collaborate with Product, Privacy, Security, Regulatory, Risk, and Government Relations to evolve governance frameworks, deliver practical guidance, and run literacy programs that uplift data and AI capability across the business.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up stewardship models and governance forums.
• Hands-on AI governance with scalable guidance.
• Ability to translate policy into practical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Evolve privacy, data and AI governance frameworks for rapid, responsible data use.
• Translate governance policies into practical, user-friendly guidance at scale.
• Deliver literacy programmes and educational resources to uplift capability across Xero.
• Collaborate with Regulatory, Privacy, and Risk to stay ahead of evolving legislation in data/AI.
