Job summary

Xero is seeking a Senior Data & AI Governance Specialist to shape how data is managed as a strategic asset and how AI is governed responsibly. You will partner with teams to implement pragmatic governance, literacy programs, and actionable guidance that bridge policy and practice.

Reporting to the Director of Data & AI Governance, you will work across Legal, Product, Privacy and Risk to stay ahead of evolving regulations while enabling safe experimentation and customer trust.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks and practices.
• Experience setting up stewardship models and governance forums.
• Familiarity with privacy, security, and risk requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evolve Xero's privacy, data and AI governance frameworks for rapid, responsible data use.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate governance policies into practical guidance at scale.
• Deliver high-impact literacy programs and tailored educational resources across Xero.
• Work with Regulatory, Privacy, and Risk functions to stay ahead of evolving legislation.
