Job summary

Kariana Pastoral in Mayrung NSW is seeking a Senior Dairy Cattle Farm Worker to lead milking routines, herd management, and calf-rearing support. You will work closely with the Farm Manager and senior staff to drive animal care and farm performance.

Role requires hands-on dairy experience, a proactive leadership approach, and the ability to mentor junior staff while upholding safety and efficiency on a busy farm.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience.

Job Description

Kariana Pastoral is looking for a skilled and passionate Senior Dairy Cattle Farm Worker to join their team in Mayrung NSW. This is an opportunity for someone with strong dairy experience who enjoys a varied role, leading by example, and is eager to contribute to our team culture of focused on achieving animal care and farm performance. The successful candidate must have a solid understanding of animal husbandry and welfare and will work closely with the Farm Manager and Senior Staff of Farms and take the lead on milking routines, herd management, herd health and supporting our calf rearing program.

You’ll also operate machinery for feeding, bedding, and pasture maintenance. Duties and responsibilities:

• Providing guidance and mentoring to junior staff.
• Leading by example in daily milking, animal handling, and shed operations.
• Supervise in maintaining a strong safety culture and clean work environment.
• Train and assist staff when necessary to ensure that tubing of calves is done correctly.
• Confidence in operating machinery (tractors/loaders essential)

Required experience, skills and qualifications:

• At least an AQF Certificate III or equivalent
• Have a minimum of 2-years hands on experience
• Ability to lead, train and support a teamStrong work ethic and pride in your work
