Job summary

Informatech Pty Ltd in Canberra seeks an experienced Cyber Security Detection Engineer for a major Federal Government project. You will work across SIEM, SOAR and EDR platforms to build and maintain detection content protecting the department's environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years in cyber security operations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills are required.
• Experience building and tuning detection content for SIEM/SOAR/EDR.
• Ability to model threats and develop supporting playbooks.

Responsibilities

• Develop detection use cases and rules based on threat models and risks.
• Create playbooks for alert validation and threat modeling.
• Assess AI-related security risks and develop detections for them.
• Maintain threat intelligence integrations across SOC stack.
• Collaborate with Cyber Defence Analysts on tuning and content.
• Support incident response and time-sensitive operations.
