Senior Cyber Security Technical Delivery Specialist

  • SNSW Grade 9/10 - The package includes base salary $130,705- $157,430, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
  • Location – Haymarket, Gosford or Parramatta
  • 1 x Temporary Full-Time – up to 24 months

About the Role

As the Senior Cyber Security Technical Delivery Specialist, you will manage and lead technical activities and projects requiring actions from a broad and disparate technical audience, implementation, analysis and evaluation of the strategic and delivery aspect of projects to assess outcomes and support the achievement of organisational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to conversations on security controls to prevent unauthorised access to sensitive data and systems.
  • Promote data minimisation and secure data handling practices across teams.
  • Align cyber security practices with relevant regulatory frameworks, standards, and internal policies. Such as ISO27001 and Cyber Security Policy.
  • Collaborate with governance teams to understand current state and future requirements.
  • Coordinate, lead and support conversation around mechanisms to detect and prevent data tampering or unauthorised modifications. Support secure data lifecycle management, including validation, logging, and reconciliation processes.
  • Workshop to design and implement resilient systems to support uninterrupted delivery of critical services via strategic Initiatives.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure operational continuity.
  • Define and enforce role-based access controls (RBAC) and least privilege principles.
  • Established regular reviews and implement change management for access permissions to reflect organisational changes.
  • Support identity and access management (IAM) initiatives.

About You

  • Be reliable, flexible, and have a positive work ethic.

  • Have excellent organizational skills and experience in managing multiple small projects.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, including being able to communicate technical and/or strategic policy issues and advice to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Be adept at building and maintaining stakeholder relationships and presenting insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Have experience in research and proficiency with analysis tools
  • Possess data visualization skills for creating interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Have experience with Jira and Confluence administration and Salesforce CRM.
  • Have experience of undertaking basic risk management activities.
  • Hold appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience in cyber security, information security, risk, project management or ICT.
  • Previous public sector experience is highly regarded.

Support office roles will be headquartered across McKell, Parramatta and Gosford. We will consider role headquarters outside of the above locations where the role can reasonably be performed from that location taking into consideration the operational, financial and customer requirements of the role, and an ability to attend a NSW Government workplace as needed.
