Job summary

The Premier's Department NSW is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to support cyber security operations across the department and The Cabinet Office. The role focuses on security administration, monitoring, incident response and risk management to protect systems and data.

Based in Martin Place, Sydney, the role offers Clerk Grade 9/10 remuneration and opportunities to lead threat hunting, vulnerability management, policy development and compliance initiatives within the Corporate Services

Responsibilities

  • Incident Response: Investigates and responds to cyber security events and incidents to protect departmental and portfolio agency information systems.
  • Threat & Vulnerability Management: Coordinates threat hunting and vulnerability management activities to identify, assess and reduce cyber security risks.
  • Cyber Security Governance: Develops, implements and monitors compliance with cyber security policies and operational procedures that support business objectives.
  • Security Advisory Services: Provides expert technical security advice and practical guidance to staff and stakeholders to minimise and mitigate security risks.
  • Security Administration & Compliance: Leads security administration activities, including access reviews, privileged account management, audit tracking and remediation oversight to maintain compliance with cyber security requirements and best practices.
  • Cyber Security Operations & Reporting: Coordinates cyber security operations across portfolio agencies and contributes to reporting that informs executives and supports ongoing policy compliance.

  • Ongoing, Clerk Grade 9/10 ($133,348 - $146,945 per annum) opportunity, based in Martin Place, Sydney.



About the role


The Senior Cyber Security Analyst supports cyber security operations across the Premier’s Department and The Cabinet Office through security administration, monitoring and incident response. The role investigates and responds to cyber threats, coordinates threat hunting and vulnerability management, and provides expert advice to reduce risk. It also develops cyber security policies and procedures, monitors compliance, leads access reviews, advises staff and stakeholders on technical security and risk mitigation and tracks remediation to protect systems and uphold cyber security requirements and best practice.

Salary: Classification Clerk Grade 9/10 ($133,348 - $146,945 per annum) plus superannuation (12%) and leave loading.
