Lawyers Weekly is assisting a top-tier criminal defence firm in Sydney to recruit a senior criminal lawyer with a proven track record in complex cases. You will lead case strategy, appear in high-stakes hearings, and maintain close client communication.

Qualifications

• At least two years of post-admission experience in criminal law.
• Proven track record of developing and executing case strategies for outcomes.
• Confidence to appear independently in sentencing hearings, bail applications, section 14 applications, and defended hearings.

• Handle a diverse range of criminal and traffic matters, including serious and complex cases.
• Appear independently in hearings and advise clients throughout the process.
• Collaborate with counsel and experts to strengthen trial strategies and outcomes.

At leasttwo years of post-admission experience in criminal law.

A proven track record of developing and executing case strategies that secure successful outcomes—even in serious and complex matters.

Confidence to appear independently in sentencing hearings, bail applications, section 14 applications, and defended hearings, while instructing counsel in high-stakes District and Supreme Court trials.

An ability to connect with clients from all walks of life, keeping them informed and at ease through the process.
