Job summary

Austal Defence Australia in Fremantle invites applications for a Senior Cost Controller to lead cost control within the Enterprise PMO for SSA program projects. You will oversee cost planning, forecasting, reporting and EVMS performance across Landing Craft Projects.

Collaborating with Project Managers, CAMs, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering and Production, you will ensure budgets are delivered on time and within scope while mentoring junior cost controllers and maintaining compliance with the

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience in Cost Control/Project Controls/Financial Analysis within project delivery.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and cost management knowledge.
• Experience in an Earned Value Management (EVM/EVMS) environment.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets and forecasts.
• Analyse cost performance, trends, risks, opportunities, and variances.
• Prepare accurate cost reports and support EVMS performance tracking.
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure effective cost planning and control.
• Lead and mentor Project Cost Controllers and drive consistency.
• Ensure compliance with Austal Cost Control Framework, EVMS, and contracts.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in project controls and reporting.
