Job summary

Sydney Water is seeking an experienced cost controller to deliver project cost control services for Major Projects, including planning, estimating, budgeting and funding to keep projects within approved budgets.

You will partner with project managers and engineers, manage budgets, forecasts, cost-to-complete analyses, and provide regular financial reporting to leadership while maintaining governance and cost control processes.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in engineering, commerce or related discipline.
• At least 7 years' experience in project estimating, cost control, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience in infrastructure or utilities environments.
• Strong knowledge of project accounting and cost reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage budgets, forecasts, cost-to-complete analysis, and cash flow.
• Monitor and validate project costs, commitments, invoices and claims.
• Provide regular financial reporting and commentary to project leadership.
• Maintain cost control systems and educate teams on usage.
• Support governance and contract reviews and adherence to policies.
