Job summary

QinetiQ Limited in Melbourne invites a Senior Facility Control Systems and Instrumentation Engineer to lead control systems, instrumentation and DAQ activities at a customer site in Port Melbourne. The role focuses on keeping complex facilities safe, reliable and technically capable, with senior technical leadership across automation and data acquisition.

You will collaborate with the Facility Manager and engineering team, develop engineering estimates, and ensure compliance with safety, quality

Qualifications

Substantial experience across control systems, instrumentation, DAQ and industrial automation.
Experience with complex facilities or experimental/test environments.
Strong diagnostic skills and fault-finding.
Experience calibrating and maintaining instrumentation and test equipment.
Knowledge of standards, regulation and client governance.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain and troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, HMI and related automation systems.
Lead engineering lifecycle from requirements to sustainment.
Support safe operation of facilities during testing and commissioning.
Lead fault investigations and root cause analysis to minimise downtime.
Manage calibration programs and maintain records.
