Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads is seeking a Senior Advisor (Contracts) in Queensland to oversee complex supplier contracts, ensuring compliance and driving value-for-money outcomes across public transport projects.

You will manage contracts end-to-end, monitor supplier performance, prepare governance documentation and build strong relationships with internal and external partners to support strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in contract management, contract administration or supplier relationship management within a complex service delivery, infrastructure or project environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex contracts through their full lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, departmental requirements and governance frameworks while proactively identifying and mitigating contractual risks.
• Monitor and manage supplier performance against contractual deliverables and key performance indicators, working collaboratively with suppliers and stakeholders to drive service improvements and value-for-money outcomes.
• Prepare, review and administer contractual documentation including variations, notices, correspondence, reports and other contract management artefacts to support effective contract administration and decision-making.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, government agencies and project partners, to support the delivery of contractual and organisational objectives.
• Coordinate and provide secretariat support for supplier meetings, governance forums and project working groups, including preparing agendas, recording outcomes, tracking actions and ensuring timely follow-up of key decisions.
• Manage supplier reporting and payment processes, including analysing and verifying claims, maintaining accurate records, monitoring contract performance data, and preparing high-quality briefs, reports and presentations to support operational and strategic priorities.
