Job summary

UGL Pty Limited’s Energy & Industrial unit is seeking a Senior Contracts Administrator to support project delivery across cost, time and quality.

You will manage upstream and downstream contract administration for goods, materials and services, working with the Project Manager and Commercial Manager to ensure compliance with standards and legislation. This role can be based in North Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide, and offers exposure to large-scale energy and renewables projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in Contracts Administration or similar.
  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar.
  • Advanced MS Excel & MS Office; SAP experience desirable.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive, resilient with strong organizational ability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all contract administration activities for the project.
  • Prepare accurate, on‑time payment claims in line with head contract and legislation.
  • Review subcontractor payment claims and variations.
  • Monitor contract securities, insurances, claims and variations.
  • Administer subcontract agreements to ensure delivery against cost, quality and schedule targets.
  • Coordinate with Project, Design and Construction Managers to ensure on‑time delivery of goods and services.
  • Support monthly project reporting (e.g., S-curves, earned value ratios).
  • Conduct preliminary commercial evaluation of subcontractor tenders.

UGL’s in-house engineering and design capability, together with our strong project delivery and operations and maintenance expertise puts us in a strong position in the market. Our target project opportunities include Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and Wind Projects, as well as Hydrogen and Ammonia projects. As we continue to deliver & evolve, we are looking for an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to join our team. This role can be based in North Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide.

About the role

As a Senior Contracts Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting project delivery across cost, time and quality targets. Working closely with the Project Manager and Commercial Manager, you will manage upstream and downstream contract administration for goods, materials and services while ensuring compliance with UGL standards, legislation and best commercial practice.

Your duties and responsibilities
  • Manage all contract administration activities for the project.
  • Prepare accurate, on‑time payment claims in line with head contract and Security of Payments legislation.
  • Review and coordinate subcontractor payment claims and variations.
  • Monitor contract securities, insurances, claims and variations.
  • Administer subcontract agreements to ensure delivery against cost, quality and schedule targets.
  • Coordinate with Project, Design and Construction Managers to ensure on‑time delivery of goods and services.
  • Support monthly internal and external project reporting (e.g., S‑curves, earned value ratios, productivity).
  • Conduct preliminary commercial evaluation of subcontractor tenders.
Your skills and experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Contracts Administration or a similar position within the resources / construction sector.
  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency in MS Office; SAP experience desirable.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • High resilience, problem‑solving ability and a proactive approach.Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • A positive, customer‑focused, team‑oriented attitude.
