Job summary

McConnell Dowell is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to join the Yan Yean Road Upgrade in Victoria. You will own subcontract packages, manage contractual risks and contribute to project outcomes.

You will work with our commercial and project leadership teams, with autonomy to make decisions and influence commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires strong negotiation, five+ years in construction, and a tertiary qualification, with a commitment

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience in construction or infrastructure contract administration.
• Experience managing subcontractor claims, variations and procurement.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

McConnell Dowell is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to join our team on the Yan Yean Road Upgrade in Victoria.

This is an opportunity to play a key commercial role on a major road infrastructure project, taking ownership of subcontract packages, managing contractual risks and contributing directly to successful project outcomes.

Working closely with our commercial and project leadership teams, you'll have the autonomy to make decisions, build strong relationships and influence commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

We're looking for someone who brings sound commercial judgement, takes initiative and enjoys being part of a collaborative, delivery-focused team.

Key responsibilities

• Managing subcontract procurement, negotiations, variations, claims and contract close-out.
• Monitoring project costs, financial reporting, risks and commercial opportunities.
• Ensuring head contract and subcontract obligations are understood and managed.
• Supporting and mentoring other contract administration personnel.
• Working closely with project and commercial leaders to drive effective commercial outcomes.

About you

You are an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator with sound commercial judgement, strong negotiation skills and confidence to take ownership of your work.

• At least five years’ experience in construction or infrastructure contract administration.
• Demonstrated experience managing subcontractor claims, variations and procurement.
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills and the ability to resolve contractual issues.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build productive working relationships.
• A relevant tertiary qualification or substantial industry experience.
