Job summary

Lightworks seeks Senior Consultants to deliver hands-on technical implementation across cloud engineering, data platforms, AI infrastructure, DevOps, and security architecture for regulated enterprises. You will be embedded with client teams from day one and held technically accountable for delivery.

You will work alongside Principal Consultants and Program Directors, steering workstreams, mentoring teammates, and ensuring self-standing, defensible outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or STEM field; equivalent practical experience considered.
• Hyper-scale certifications at Associate or Professional level required; Specialty certifications are a differentiator.
• 5+ years of hands-on technology delivery; at least 3 years in regulated industries such as financial services, insurance, or government.

Responsibilities

• Deliver complex technology, AI, modernization, and platform programs inside regulated enterprise environments from architecture to delivery.

THE ROLE

Senior Consultants at Lightworks deliver hands‑on technical implementation across cloud engineering, data platforms, AI infrastructure, DevOps, and security architecture. You are expected to be embedded, client‑facing, and technically accountable from day one. Day to day, you help some of the world’s most complex and highly regulated firms implement leading edge technologies at scale.

You will work inside client programs alongside teammates, Principal Consultants, senior client engineers, and Program Directors. You are expected to be able to operate independently, executing workstreams, managing other teammates and deliverables. You will receive mentorship and guidance from Principal Consultants, but your work and delivery should be self‑standing and defensible in its own right.

This role spans two core service streams, both requiring experience within governed environments and the ability to turn executive priorities into enterprise‑scale delivery.

Agentic Control Plane (ACP)

The ACP is Lightworks’ flagship joint development program, built in partnership with several of the world’s largest and most regulated institutions. Seniors embedded in ACP work inside an industry‑led engineering consortium alongside distinguished engineers and institutional leaders from across financial services, telecommunications, and insurance. You will be on the engineering team building the systems, working with frameworks such as LangFuse, LangGraph, Agent Gateway, and related orchestration and observability platforms to develop the control infrastructure that governs how AI is deployed at scale. The platform currently processes over 2 trillion tokens per month. You will be providing hands‑on execution of the deliverables.

CTO‑as‑a‑Service

Supporting our principals to directly execute support of mission‑critical and strategic programs across AI, cloud, data, and migrations. Where clients require embedded executive technology leadership, Lightworks seconds a principal directly into the client’s existing executive team. CTOaaS engagements are delivered exclusively by luminaries with proven experience at CTO and SVP levels, operating within regulated enterprises with $1B+ technology budgets. Seniors support our principals embedded alongside existing executive team members to operate effectively across complex vendor landscapes – including hyper‑slicer partnerships and incumbent delivery organizations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Delivery

• Support the delivery of complex technology, AI, modernization, and platform programs inside regulated enterprise environments, from architecture through delivery
• Take ownership of specific work packages and see them through to completion in conjunction with teammates and client teams.

Client & Relationship Leadership

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with client teams, engineering leads and developers. Present at technical forums, architectural governance boards and program updates.
• Foster good working relationships across client teams, facilitating cross‑functional AI and technology initiatives

Commercial & Team Leadership

• Contribute to business development through client relationship development, scope expansion, proposal leadership, and identification of new opportunities
• Mentor and develop Consultants on your engagements – invest in their growth, hold them to a high standard, and build the next generation of Lightworks’ delivery capability

Technical Implementation

• AI
  • Design and build enterprise AI capabilities including LLM gateway, model and inference routers, implementation of guardrails
  • Build and refine production‑grade AI solutions utilizing LangGraph, LangFuse, ADK, and other leading LLM orchestration and observability platforms
  • Own and deliver AI and data workstreams within large‑scale enterprise programs, including AI/ML infrastructure, data platforms, and agentic system deployments
• CTOaaS & Cloud Consulting
  • Design and build secure, compliant cloud platforms, and foundations for highly regulated industries (finance, insurance, aviation, or similar)
  • Participate in client stakeholder meetings at the Director and Head‑of level, communicating progress, risks, and decisions clearly
  • Produce technical documentation, architecture decision records, and delivery artefacts that are clear, defensible, and production‑ready
  • Communicate clearly and concisely – translating complex technical concepts for both engineering and executive audiences without losing precision

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another STEM‑related field. Equivalent practical experience considered
• Hyper‑scale certifications at Associate or Professional level are required. Specialty certifications (Security, Data Analytics, Solutions Architect Professional) are a meaningful differentiator. Equivalent demonstrable hands‑on experience considered where certifications are in progress

Experience

• 5+ years of hands‑on technology delivery experience, with at least 3 years inside a highly regulated industry - financial services, insurance, telecommunications, or government
• Proven experience designing, building, and deploying agentic systems, AI workflows and multi‑agent AI systems in production environments
• Prior experience in consulting, professional services, system integrator, or enterprise transformation environment. Familiarity with regulated delivery practices including architecture review, risk and compliance sign‑off, security controls, production readiness, and operational governance

Domain Expertise

• Strong full‑stack depth: a modern JS framework (Vue/React/etc.) and a server‑side framework (Django/Rails/Spring/etc.)
• Hands‑on expertise with modern LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, LangFuse, ADK, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar platforms
• Solid grasp of relational data modelling, API design, and authentication/authorization
• Deep technical capability in at least one core domain: AWS, Azure & GCP cloud engineering, data platforms (Airflow, Glue, Databricks), DevOps/SRE, AI/ML infrastructure, or security architecture
• Demonstrated experience delivering client‑facing technology work with clear ownership of outcomes, not only tasks
• Evidence of operating well in ambiguity – managing dependencies, escalating appropriately, and following through to completion

Communication & Culture Fit

• Clear, concise communicator – able to translate complex technical concepts for engineering and executive audiences without losing precision
• Take ownership, close loops, and make the next step obvious for clients and teammates

Advantageous

• Mainframe and/or legacy application modernization exposure
• Multi‑cloud experience – AWS, Azure & GCP
• Familiarity with observability, SRE practices, and production operations in regulated environments
• IaC fluency: Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, or equivalent
