YOUR ROLE

As a senior member of the Compliance Team, the Senior Compliance Advisor plays a key role in supporting MACS to meet its legal, regulatory, and internal compliance obligations. Reporting to the Manager, Compliance, this position contributes to maintaining the organisation’s Compliance Management Framework, supporting school-facing compliance functions, and enhancing the culture of integrity and compliance across MACS.

You will provide expert advice, monitor regulatory developments, contribute to policy alignment with MACS’s risk framework, and collaborate across directorates to mitigate compliance risks. This role is ideal for a compliance professional with a strong understanding of governance principles, attention to detail, and a passion for enabling sound organisational practice in a mission-led environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Support the Manager, Compliance in delivering legislative and regulatory compliance strategies across MACS.
  • Maintain and enhance MACS’s Compliance Management Framework, including obligations registers and alignment with ISO 37301 standards.
  • Monitor changes in the regulatory environment and ensure compliance strategies remain current and effective.
  • Assist in the coordination of compliance activities related to school reviews, registrations, and complaints.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs to support organisational awareness and understanding.
  • Ensure alignment between internal policies, procedures, and the organisation’s broader risk management framework.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and school staff to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to team members and stakeholders, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and compliance excellence across MACS.

  • You bring proven experience managing compliance matters in complex, highly regulated environments.
  • You demonstrate strong knowledge of legal and regulatory obligations within an educational or not-for-profit context (desirable).
  • You’re a relationship-builder with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • You’re solutions-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset and a focus on enabling compliance outcomes.
  • You are organised and can manage multiple priorities and deadlines with precision.
  • You take pride in upholding integrity, confidentiality, and professional standards in all that you do.
