Job summary

Quickway is seeking a Commercial Lead/Commercial Manager to steer the commercial function across major civil infrastructure projects. Based in NSW, you will collaborate with Project Managers, delivery teams and clients to drive performance, manage risk and protect commercial outcomes.

You will lead negotiations on subcontract agreements, monitor budgets, and guide procurement through to project completion, ensuring contractual obligations are met and value is delivered.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate legal qualifications highly regarded.
• Proven experience in a Commercial Manager, Commercial Lead or Senior Contracts role within the civil infrastructure sector.
• Demonstrated experience administering complex construction contracts, including NEC4 & GC21 contracts.
• Exceptional commercial and contractual acumen with a strong understanding of risk allocation and contract management principles.

Responsibilities

• Leading the commercial management of major civil infrastructure projects.
• Preparing, negotiating and administering subcontract agreements and commercial packages.
• Managing variations, extension of time (EOT) claims, contractual correspondence and dispute resolution.
• Monitoring project budgets, forecasting, cash flow and cost control activities.
• Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Providing commercial guidance and support to project delivery teams.
• Managing subcontractor performance, compliance and commercial outcomes.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
• Preparing commercial reports and project performance updates for senior management.
• Ensuring contractual obligations are effectively managed throughout project delivery.
