Job summary

Australia Post is seeking a Senior Commercial Analyst to manage the technology supplier portfolio and support commercial engagements. You will work with delivery teams, Procurement, Legal, Risk and Finance to shape supplier outcomes, monitor performance and drive value while leveraging digital tools to improve efficiency.

The role is a 1-year fixed-term contract with flexible hybrid working arrangements and opportunities to grow through formal programs and mentorship.

Qualifications

About the opportunity
The Senior Commercial Analyst plays a key role in managing Australia Post’s technology supplier portfolio, supporting commercial engagements and supplier performance across Enterprise Services. Working closely with delivery teams, Procurement, Legal, Risk and Finance, you'll help shape supplier outcomes, support sourcing and go-to-market activities, monitor contract performance, and ensure supplier partnerships deliver value, compliance and strong service outcomes. You'll also identify opportunities to leverage digital and AI tools to improve efficiency, decision-making and service delivery.

This is a 1 year fixed-term contract.

You’ll also

• Support sourcing initiatives and supplier selection for technology investments, curating scopes of work and the market engagement pipeline with Procurement.
• Support contract negotiations, renewals, variations and dispute resolution, ensuring functional, non-functional and stakeholder requirements are clearly defined and documented.
• Support delivery teams to monitor supplier performance against service levels, key performance indicators and contractual commitments, and recommend governance metrics that drive accountability and continuous improvement.
• Financial modelling, total cost of ownership and return on investment analysis.
• Support implementation of mechanisms that track and measure the cost and benefit of supplier engagements.
• Analyse supplier rates and commercial constructs against market benchmarks to support value realisation and reduce risk exposure.
• Identify, analyse and elevate commercial, operational and compliance risks, ensuring policy, legislation and probity requirements are reflected in contracts and understood by partners.
• Contribute to the Supplier Management Centre of Excellence, including supplier scorecards, executive review packs and escalation protocols across technology supplier categories.
  

About you

We are looking for a strong communicator as you will be collaborating with key stakeholders across Enterprise Services, including Technology leaders, delivery teams, Procurement, Legal, Risk, Compliance and Finance, while building strong partnerships with technology suppliers, software vendors and managed service providers. The role also leverages industry insights and market benchmarks to support commercial decision-making and supplier performance. This is where your understanding of partner management, supplier governance and project portfolio governance is key.

You’ll also need

• Experience in commercial management of technology supplier engagements, including contract analysis, commercial models and outcome-based contracting.
• Comfortable working with or within technology partners or IT functions in complex organisations.
• Proven ability to build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and supplier representatives.
• Understanding of modern technology platforms, Agile delivery models, and technology sourcing approaches, with awareness of supplier market dynamics and pricing trends.
• Background working in procurement, strategic sourcing, risk and controls, and governance and reporting.
• Commercial and contract analysis skills, including design of statements of work, service level agreements and key performance indicators.
