Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a skilled Cloud Security Analyst to join our cybersecurity team in Australia. The role focuses on proactive identification, analysis, and mitigation of threats across cloud-native environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).

You will work with GIS teams on detection, incident escalation, and cloud threat intelligence. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in security operations, hands-on cloud monitoring tools, and bold problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of experience in Cyber Security, Incident Response, or related field.
• 2 years' experience using Splunk in security investigations.
• Experience with Azure Security Center, AWS Cloud Security Hub, or Google Cloud Security.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or related field.
• Experience working with incident response teams, vulnerability managers, threat intelligence researchers, Red/Purple teams, and/or HUNT researchers.
• A broad knowledge of information security principles and security capabilities.
• Some experience with large on-prem or hybrid-cloud environments deployments.
• Understanding of configuration management, orchestration, and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack, Packer).
• Familiarity with CIS, NIST, MITRE, ITIL, HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS, ISO 27001 frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provide AWS and Azure Cloud event monitoring and case dispositioning, escalate to control partners.
• Update documentation as changes occur in the environment or tooling.
• Tune existing alerts to reduce false positives.
• Articulate current threats against cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Monitor for suspicious AI usage and jailbreak attempts.
• Use Splunk and Log Analytics to view cloud logs for AWS and Azure.
• Triage and report critical cloud vulnerabilities.
• Weekend shift work may be required.
• Collaborate with broader IT and security teams in SOC operations.
• Maintain awareness of security operations and enterprise IT best practices.
