Job summary

Endeavour Group is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer (Azure) to design, automate, and maintain robust Azure systems infrastructure from Sydney or Melbourne. The role focuses on scalable Azure/GCP deployments, security, and reliability in collaboration with Architecture, Cyber, and Digital teams.

You’ll build Enterprise-scale IaC with Terraform, automate pipelines, and implement secure-by-design landing zones while driving FinOps and Zero Trust principles to optimise costs and resilience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as an Azure Cloud Engineer with Windows and Linux administration.
• Tertiary degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
• Expert-level Infrastructure as Code skills using Terraform, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.
• Proven delivery of Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
• Core Azure expertise across compute, networking, firewalls, App Services, Logic Apps, storage, and databases.
• Advanced networking knowledge including hub‑and‑spoke, hybrid, DNS, WAF, and load balancing.
• Incident troubleshooting and cloud cost optimisation experience.

Responsibilities

• Co-develop infrastructure patterns with architecture teams into reusable Terraform IaC modules.
• Modernise legacy solutions into code-driven cloud patterns.
• Create IaC foundations and Terraform modules aligned with Azure Landing Zones and CAF.
• Develop and maintain deployment pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, and Shell scripting.
• Respond to high‑criticality production incidents and troubleshoot to restore services.
• Design secure, scalable cloud networking topologies with DNS, WAF, and load balancing.
• Embed FinOps practices into IaC for cost optimisation and governance.
• Apply secure‑by‑design and policy‑as‑code to enforce security.
• Implement automated backup, recovery, and performance monitoring for DR.
