Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a cloud engineering leader to design, build and optimise scalable cloud platforms across AWS and Azure. You will drive automation, CI/CD pipelines and platform reliability while partnering with Architecture, Security and Networks teams.

You will act as a hands-on technical leader, mentoring engineers and shaping the organisation's cloud strategy and governance in a multi-cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering enterprise cloud platforms and infrastructure.
• Strong background in AWS and Azure with hands-on Terraform.
• Proven ability to build automation, CI/CD pipelines and secure platforms.

In this role, you'll:

Work as part of a team delivering enterprise cloud platform and infrastructure services, this role will see you design, build and optimise scalable, secure and resilient cloud solutions across AWS and Azure. You will play a key role in driving platform automation, reliability, security, governance and continuous improvement while enabling teams to deliver modern applications efficiently and securely.

You will lead the development of cloud platforms, build automation and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions, and drive operational excellence in a complex multi-cloud environment. Working closely with Architecture, Security, Networks and Engineering teams, you will champion cloud best practices, improve platform performance and resilience, and deliver cost‑effective, secure, and scalable solutions.

About you

Your cloud engineering, platform architecture and automation expertise, developed across enterprise technology, cloud infrastructure, DevOps or site reliability engineering environments, will see you excel in designing resilient cloud platforms, implementing CI/CD pipelines, strengthening security controls and optimising cloud operations.

You're recognised as a strategic and hands‑on technical leader, skilled at simplifying complex challenges, mentoring engineering teams and driving platform innovation. Experienced in AWS, Azure, Terraform, cloud networking, containers, DevOps tooling and modern operational practices, you will help shape the organisation's cloud strategy, governance and platform maturity while delivering reliable, secure and high-performing services.
