Job summary

Eightcap in Melbourne seeks a Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer who treats infrastructure as software—versioned, reviewed, tested and released. You will own the health, security and evolution of our AWS estate powering trading services, client apps and internal systems.

You will design multi-account AWS environments with Terraform, own CI/CD in GitHub Actions, enforce least-privilege security and automate compliance for ISO 27001 and SOC 2, while driving incident response and mentoring the team

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience designing, building and operating production AWS workloads (multi-account, VPC, IAM, EC2, Lambda, Fargate, RDS, CloudWatch).
• Expert-level Terraform: reusable modules, remote state, refactoring live infrastructure without downtime.
• Strong GitHub Actions experience across application and infrastructure pipelines, with secure credential handling.
• A genuine software engineering background in Python, Go, TypeScript or C#, with tests, code review and release discipline.
• Demonstrable cloud security engineering, including least-privilege IAM, RBAC, SSO, MFA, secrets management and CSPM tooling (Wiz).
• Experience automating compliance evidence against ISO 27001, SOC 2 and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Track record leading incidents and post-incident reviews under real change control.
• Clear communication skills, including writing design docs and explaining trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Availability for an on-call rotation and occasional out-of-hours maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Own the Cloud Platform: Design, build and operate multi-account AWS environments, with Terraform as the backbone for changes.
• Build the paved road: Own CI/CD in GitHub Actions and boilerplates for services to ship production-ready environments.
• Engineer security: Apply least-privilege IAM, secrets management and CSPM tooling, embedding security into pipelines.
• Automate compliance: Build continuous evidence and controls against ISO 27001, SOC 2 and AWS Well-Architected.
• Own observability and reliability: Run CloudWatch, define SLOs, lead incident reviews and runbooks.
• Lead without the title: Set platform standards and mentor the team on cloud and security practices.
• Partner across the business: Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Product Engineering and Trading Platform Operations.
