Job summary

Serco is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect/Engineer at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Murdoch, Perth, to design and deliver robust AWS solutions. You will join a cloud enablement team delivering enterprise cloud capabilities across our government contracts.

You’ll work in a hybrid environment on a 6-month fixed term, blending hands-on engineering with architecture, documentation and knowledge sharing to build cloud capability across our teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT infrastructure experience, including 5+ years in AWS cloud architecture.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing AWS-based solutions.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AWS-based architectures across core cloud services.
• Develop reference designs and technical documentation.
• Configure infrastructure using IaC best practices.
• Collaborate with security, platform and application teams to deliver aligned solutions.
• Mentor teams and uplift internal cloud capability.

As a Senior Cloud Architect / Engineer in the cloud enablement team, you’ll help design and implement robust AWS solutions that support our cloud strategy. You’ll combine hands‑on engineering with architecture, documentation and knowledge sharing to build sustainable cloud capability across our teams. Working within a dynamic cloud enablement team, you’ll translate strategic requirements into practical technical solutions aligned with enterprise standards and best practices.

• Configuring AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code best practices

You Could Be a Great Fit If You Have

• 10+ years’ IT infrastructure experience, including 5+ years in AWS cloud architecture
• Strong expertise across core AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS and Lambda
• Hands‑on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation or CDK
• Understanding of AWS Landing Zone concepts and the Landing Zone Accelerator
• Experience with CI/CD, automation and DevOps practices
• Strong communication, documentation, mentoring and stakeholder engagement skills.
