Healthii People is seeking a Senior Clinician for the headspace Early Psychosis team based in Southport, Gold Coast, with outreach across surrounding areas. The role supports a hub-and-spoke model and focuses on biopsychosocial assessments and MDT decision-making for young people aged 12–25.

The position offers Permanent Full Time or Fixed Term until June 2027, with SCHADS Level 5 salary ranging from $105,570 to $110,350 plus super, salary packaging, and penalty rates per hour.

Healthii People are proud to have partnered with Lives Lived Well for the recruitment of a Senior Clinician for their headspace Early Psychosis team. Lives Lived Well are a values based not for profit and have been providing valuable Mental Health and AOD support to individuals, families and veterans in the community across QLD, NSW and SA for more than 40 years.

Lives Lived Well deliver headspace Early Psychosis in South East Queensland, supporting young people aged 12–25 who are experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, psychosis. The service runs on a hub-and-spoke model: the Southport hub is home to MATT and the Continuing Care Team (CCT), and the Meadowbrook spoke site works closely alongside it. As the intake point for the whole program, MATT covers the Gold Coast and the Brisbane South PHN region. The team provides triage, comprehensive assessment and treatment recommendations for young people presenting with moderate to severe and complex mental health concerns.

As the Senior Clinician, you will lead comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and clinical formulations for young people referred to the service. This is an assessment-focused role rather than ongoing therapy. You will gather full developmental histories, engage families and carers, and complete specialist early psychosis assessments. You will then bring your formulation to the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to determine the right pathway, whether that's the CCT or another service.

You'll report to the Team Leader and work alongside a team of senior clinicians, clinicians and consultant psychiatrists.

You will also:

• Provide specialist triage and risk assessment, and develop risk management plans


• Deliver structured outreach, meeting young people at the Southport or Meadowbrook centres or in the community where barriers exist


• Present assessments and formulations at MDT and clinical review meetings


• Support junior clinicians through supervision, mentoring and clinical advice


• Work collaboratively with young people, families, carers and external services


• Contribute to service development and continuous improvement

About you:

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing


• AHPRA registration (OT, Psychology, Nursing) or eligibility for AASW membership (Social Work)


• Strong grounding in mental health assessment, biopsychosocial assessment and clinical case formulation


• Experience working with young people with complex presentations; experience with early psychosis is highly regarded


• Confident clinical judgement and the ability to work autonomously as a senior


• Comfortable working a rotating 7-day roster (7am–8pm weekdays, 10am–6pm weekends)
