Tonkin Consulting in Adelaide seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to a variety of civil infrastructure projects. You will liaise with Local Government clients, service providers, and authorities across Australia.

We value proactive communication, analytical thinking, and a passion for local government projects. The role requires at least 7 years’ experience and knowledge of Australian standards in a multi-disciplinary national context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience with Australian Standards and industry guides.
• Local Government experience is preferred.
• Assist with site visits to support field and investigative work.
• Efficient multi-tasking with attention to detail.
• Collaborative, flexible team approach.

Responsibilities

• Join a collaborative Adelaide-based engineering team with Project Engineers and Senior/Principal Engineers.
• Design and document civil infrastructure for Local Government clients across stormwater, civil and transport disciplines.
• Deliver well-documented designs including drawings, specifications and reports meeting Tonkin standards.
• Provide inputs to engineers and drafters for high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure project coordination.
• Understand software such as AutoTURN and stormwater modelling and how they apply to the lifecycle.
• Demonstrate Tonkin values through professional conduct and collaboration.
