Job summary

Senior Civil Engineer - Civil Infrastructure role at AECOM in Perth, WA. Hybrid work model with 5–10 years’ post‑graduate civil/site infrastructure experience, focusing on stormwater, bulk earthworks and water/wastewater coordination.

Join a global team delivering major infrastructure projects, with mentoring for junior engineers and emphasis on quality design and standards compliance. You will contribute to multi-disciplinary interfaces and stakeholder coordination.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years’ post‑graduate experience in civil/site infrastructure design roles.
  • Working knowledge of Austroads and ability to interpret local council/authority requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in stormwater (pit and pipe) and bulk earthworks design; water/wastewater and services coordination experience is highly regarded.
  • Exposure to WSUD design or integration is a plus.
  • Department of Defence project experience is highly desirable (Defence environments, approvals, standards and stakeholder expectations).
  • Strong attention to detail, structured working style, and commitment to producing consistent, compliant deliverables.

  • Gather, interpret and correlate engineering data using established procedures.
  • Apply a strong quality focus: checking, design verification, documentation accuracy, and consistent adherence to standards.

  • Coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders to resolve interfaces (utilities/services coordination, site constraints, staging and buildability).
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers, supporting capability uplift and good engineering habits.

What you’ll be doing
  • Deliver moderate portions of broader civil/site infrastructure assignments with limited supervision, to agreed budget and programme.
  • Gather, interpret and correlate engineering data using established procedures.

  • Coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders to resolve interfaces (utilities/services coordination, site constraints, staging and buildability).
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers, supporting capability uplift and good engineering habits.

Independently complete primary design elements for civil works, including:

Stormwater design (pit and pipe networks, major/minor systems, detention and drainage strategy)

Bulk earthworks (grading, levels coordination, cut/fill balance considerations)

Basic water and wastewater infrastructure (reticulation layouts, services coordination and constructability)

WSUD inputs (where applicable) to support compliant and practical outcomes.

What we’re looking for
  • 5–10 years’ post‑graduate experience in civil/site infrastructure design roles.
  • Working knowledge of Austroads and an ability to interpret and apply local council/authority requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in stormwater (pit and pipe) and bulk earthworks design; water/wastewater and services coordination experience is highly regarded.
