Job summary

Peritas is seeking a Senior Civil Designer in Australia to deliver expert civil design solutions for complex projects. You will autonomously navigate technical challenges and develop creative solutions while ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and project standards.

With 7 years of experience, you will prepare detailed designs, drawings, and cost estimates, liaise with clients, and coordinate services across disciplines to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience in design and documentation of civil engineering projects.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, 12D and Australian Standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality, detailed designs, drawings, and cost estimates for civil engineering projects (earthwork, roadworks, stormwater drainage, traffic management, water/sewage reticulation, etc.).
• Provide expert advice to clients on development requirements, ensuring compliance with legislation and conditions.
• Investigate engineering problems and develop effective solutions and alternatives.
• Ensure all designs meet prescribed standards, conditions, and quality assurance procedures within allocated timeframes and budgets.
• Continuously improving internal design systems and processes.
• Successfully prioritise and manage workload to meet project deadlines.
• Collaborate with engineering, drafting, and detailing personnel from project initiation to construction completion.
• Coordinate other essential services (e.g. electrical, telecommunications) as required.
• Plan and implement design aspects of projects.
• Examine documents and drawings for completeness and accuracy before client submission.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Technical

Experience & Qualifications:

• 7 years of experience in design and documentation of civil engineering projects.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, 12D and Australian Standards.
• Advanced Diploma of Engineering, Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology, or equivalent relevant experience.
