Job summary

Resourceful Recruitment is seeking a Senior Civil Designer to join a growing resources-focused delivery team. You will own complex civil designs for mining projects, mentor junior designers, and shape delivery as the team expands.

You will tackle non-standard problems, manage design drawings and construction documentation, and collaborate with in-house and offshore resources to meet demanding schedules and budgets. Flexible location in Australia.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Civil Designer within mining or resources environments.
• Strong working knowledge of 12D, supported by AutoCAD.
• Strong capability in civil design and drafting for complex, multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience preparing construction documentation and specifications.
• Solid understanding of Australian design standards and regulatory requirements.
• Comfortable being the technical point of contact in client discussions solving problems and presenting solutions rather than managing client relationships or business development.
• Open and adaptable to working with offshore design and drafting resources.
• A collaborative approach and a passion for mentoring junior designers.

• Ensuring designs comply with Australian Standards, Codes and client-specific standards
• Working confidently with both in-house and offshore design/drafting support to meet project schedules and budgets
• Mentoring and supporting less experienced designers to build technical capability across the team
• Contributing to workshops, training initiatives and business planning

Position Overview

This consultancy is growing a resources-focused delivery team and needs a technically strong Senior Civil Designer to help drive that expansion. This is a technical ownership role: you'll take complex issues that don't fit the standard solution and work through them, mentor junior designers, and help shape how the team delivers as it grows.
