Job summary

St Vincent's Care Services Eltham is seeking a Senior Chef to lead high-volume kitchen operations, ensuring meals meet dietary requirements and safety standards within a supportive aged-care setting. You'll join a dedicated team delivering a welcoming dining experience for residents, while upholding budget and rostering responsibilities.

Applicants should hold a trade qualification in commercial cooking, possess a current FSS certificate, and be able to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Commercial cooking and experience in fine dining or Hotels (preferred).
• Current FSS Certificate (Food Safety Supervisor).
• Roster management and working within approved budget while the head chef is away.
• Be part of the leadership team in ensuring a superior dining service.
• National Police Certificate.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check may be a requirement of this role.

This is a Permanent Part time opportunity with 38 hours/fortnight.

Permanent Full-time role also available.

• High volume cooking experience

• Previous experience in an aged care facility or bistro/hotel; ideally five years or more (desirable)
• An ability to work a multidisciplinary team within a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lead under pressure
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus, with an ability to implement change and drive a strong team culture;
• National Police Certificate
• NDIS Worker Screening Check may be a requirement of this role.
