Job summary

KBR, Inc. in Australia seeks a senior leader for the Computational Fluid Mechanics/Dynamics team. You will guide technical excellence across a portfolio spanning Buildings/Defence, Water, and Transport with a focus on on-time delivery and client growth.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate across disciplines, and expand capabilities in physical and computational modelling, including multiphase flows and gas-liquid systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in consulting.
• Experience across Buildings/Defence, Water, and Transport projects.
• Proven ability and enthusiasm to lead an established engineering team.
• Demonstrated team leadership and people development experience.
• Strong business development capability and comfort working with clients.
• Experience operating in a national engineering leadership capacity.
• Expertise in both physical and computational modelling.
• Experience with gas and liquid systems, including multiphase flows.
• Proficiency with both open-source and commercial modelling tools.
• Experience with cloud-based HPC environments.
• Strong coding and scripting abilities to support modelling workflows.
• You must currently hold or be able to obtain a Defence clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Computational Fluid Mechanics/Dynamics team to drive technical excellence.
• Ensure high-quality, on-time delivery across Buildings/Defence, Water and Transport sectors.
• Identify and develop new growth opportunities with clients and industry partners.
• Champion innovation by exploring new research directions and publishing thought leadership.
