The University of Western Australia invites applications for a Category Manager to lead strategic procurement and category management. This full-time, 12-month fixed-term appointment is at Level 9, with a base salary of AUD 139,660 to 147,783 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

You will lead category strategies, drive strategic sourcing, and build a high-performing procurement team, delivering value, sustainability, and resilient supply across the University.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification or MCIPS accreditation with demonstrated procurement expertise.
• Extensive experience in category management, strategic sourcing, contract management, and SRM across diverse spend areas.
• Proven leadership managing teams, resources, projects, and priorities in a complex environment.
• Strong commercial and analytical capability with successful negotiation of complex agreements.
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement, communication, presentation, and influencing skills.

• Lead the development and execution of category strategies and procurement plans to maximise value.
• Provide expert commercial advice on procurement, contracts, supplier performance, risk, and value optimisation.
• Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team and drive continuous improvement.
