Job summary

Talent Matters is seeking a Senior Buyer/Product Manager for a leading apparel retailer with both brick-and-mortar and Ecommerce presence in Australia and internationally. You will create and deliver a balanced product assortment across apparel and accessories, driving sales and profitability.

You will own end-to-end product lifecycle from selection to delivery, lead seasonal range decisions, and leverage market trends to maximise commercial opportunities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a Senior Buyer/Product Manager in apparel.
• Menswear experience highly regarded.
• Commercial acumen with a trade-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Strategically own and manage a selection of apparel and accessories categories from product selection, sourcing, price negotiation, to warehouse delivery.
• Manage a commercial and desirable range that meets sales budgets and margin targets.
• Continually develop products using trends and brand knowledge – design-led development.
• Trade the range in-season and be accountable for core lines with planners.
• Identify new trends through market awareness and overseas travel.
• Ensure the OTB is filled and deliveries are phased correctly.
• Own product from creation, fitting, production to stores.

We are exclusively partnering with our client, a leading apparel retailer with both brick and mortar and a strong Ecommerce presence both within Australia and internationally in the search for their next Senior Buyer/Product Manager!

You will create, range and deliver a balanced product assortment that is relevant to the customer and maximises commercial opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Strategically own and manage a selection of categories within apparel and accessories from product selection, sourcing, price negotiation, order placement to warehouse delivery
• Manage a commercial and desirable range that meets sales budgets, margin targets, proposed range mix and customer expectations
• Continuous product development for your specific categories using a combination of current trends and proven product knowledge – design led product development
• Ability to trade your range in season and are accountable for core lines with the planners
• Identify new trends and product relevant to the brand customer through overseas travel, online research and local market awareness
• Ensure the OTB is filled and product deliveries are phased correctly
• Own product from creation, fitting, production to stores

To be successful within the role, you will have:

• 10+ years of experience as a Senior Buyer/Product Manager, within apparel essential
• Menswear experience highly regarded
• Commercial acumen with a trade focused approach
