Job summary

Department of Education WA is seeking Senior Business and Data Analysts to scope, design, build and implement data products such as dashboards, datasets and reports, aligned with the product lifecycle. The role involves establishing data governance frameworks and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support evidence-based decision making.

There are permanent and fixed-term vacancies, full-time and part-time options, based in East Perth.

• Prepare reports, briefing notes and other documentation to inform strategic decision-making within the Department.
• Document, map and reengineer data-collection processes to support data products and evidence-based decision making.

Salary: Level 6, $124,673 - $137,399 per annum (pro-rata) (PSCA 2024)

Enterprise Governance and Partnerships are seeking to establish a pool of Senior Business and Data Analysts for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2026 and up to the end of October, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Enterprise Governance and Partnerships Division drives high performance at a system level by providing senior leaders with visibility and assurance of system performance and improvement initiatives and confidence in the management of key external partnerships.

We do this by:

• ensuring strategic responses and projects are delivered within expectations underpinned by quality project and program management methodologies
• improving oversight of high-level strategic priorities and projects through increased visibility and quality assurance
• aligning governance standards to the strategic significance and complexity of initiatives
• supporting evidence-based decision making through effective use of intelligence and data
• developing and maintaining effective partnerships to support strategic alignment and positive relationships both within and external to the Department, including with higher and international education stakeholders

The Role

The suitable applicants will scope, design, build and implement data-related products, including dashboards, datasets and reports, in line with the product lifecycle. They will establish and maintain procedural frameworks to assure data governance, security and use.

In this role the suitable applicants will undertake end-to-end data management, including sourcing, transforming, validating and modelling. This includes the preparation of reports, briefing notes and other documentation to inform the strategic decision-making process within the Department.

The role will also include working with business areas to document, map and reengineer data-collection processes that support the development and use of products that embed evidence-based decision-making practice. Establishing and maintaining collaborative working relationships and effective communication networks with internal and external stakeholders
