Overview

Victoria University (VU) is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst (Cyber) to join the Digital and Campus Services (DCS) team. This pivotal role will support the successful delivery of strategic cyber initiatives, driving improvements in digital safety frameworks, business processes, and operational efficiency across the University.

About the Role
  • Lead the analysis, requirements gathering, re-engineering of business processes and support implementation for cyber program and associated projects.
  • Prepare comprehensive business cases, requirements, and user stories.
  • Collaborate with university stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to ensure secure, effective solutions.
  • Contribute to the uplift of business analysis practices and frameworks.
  • Facilitate workshops and forums to address business challenges and drive process improvements.
  • This role reports to the Senior Manager, Projects and Business Analysis and will play a key part in shaping the University’s digital security landscape.
The Specifics
  • Salary: HEPP Level 9 $128,446 - $133,636 per annum + 17% employer superannuation
  • Contract Type: Full time, fixed term (2 years)
  • Hours per week: 36.75 - 1.0 FTE
  • Location: Footscray Park Campus
About You
  • Postgraduate qualifications and/or extensive relevant experience.
  • Strong experience delivering cybersecurity initiatives, working with multidisciplinary teams to manage risk and ensure compliance.
  • Proven ability in business analysis practice (aligned to BABOK), system integration, and developing business cases (including financial modelling).
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in Waterfall and Hybrid delivery environments is paramount.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, ACSC Essential Eight), data protection and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, APPs).
  • Familiarity with higher education sector processes is advantageous.
