Job summary

Acclime is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join our team and provide hands-on, client-facing bookkeeping support for a diverse client base. You will oversee day-to-day activities, support junior and offshore staff, and help prepare accurate financial information for management and statutory reporting.

The role emphasizes accuracy, autonomy, and strong communication, with BAS/STP/payroll knowledge and eligibility for BAS Agent registration. Melbourne-based opportunities with flexible arrangements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a senior bookkeeping role.
• Relevant bookkeeping qualification (e.g. Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping).
• Strong experience using Xero and related apps.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of Australian bookkeeping and payroll requirements, including BAS, STP, superannuation, payroll tax and WorkCover.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing deadlines.
• Clear and professional communication skills (written and verbal).
• BAS Agent registration or eligibility.
• Experience reviewing and supervising the work of other bookkeepers.
• Experience working with offshore teams.
• Exposure to multiple industries and complex client structures.

Responsibilities
