Job summary

Bentleys Queensland is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to support a diverse client portfolio with accurate bookkeeping, payroll, and compliance services. You’ll own end-to-end bookkeeping, mentor junior staff, and contribute to workflow and client relationship excellence.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of bookkeeping in professional services, strong payroll and BAS/IAS knowledge, and experience with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or Employment Hero.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' bookkeeping experience, ideally within a public practice or professional services environment.
• Experience managing end-to-end payroll and payroll compliance.
• Strong knowledge of BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG and other bookkeeping obligations.
• Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Employment Hero or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage bank, credit card, debtor and creditor reconciliations.
• Prepare and process payroll, superannuation, leave entitlements, onboarding and offboarding.
• Complete BAS, IAS, payroll tax and other compliance obligations.
• Prepare management reports, cash flow information and month-end reconciliations.
• Liaise directly with clients, the ATO and external stakeholders.
• Assist clients with accounting software setup, training and system improvements.
• Review client files ahead of annual tax compliance and audit requirements.
• Support workflow management, billing and bookkeeping deadlines.
• Provide guidance, training and support to junior team members.
