Job summary

Snowy Hydro is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to join our team in Cooma, NSW. You will be the primary point of contact for biodiversity management, ensuring environmental plans are implemented effectively and compliant with regulatory requirements.

You will lead, mentor and collaborate with the contractor, coordinate heritage and other management plans, and provide specialist ecological and biosecurity support to the Snowy 2.0 project.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Environmental Science (or equivalent).
• BAM Certification desirable.
• Experience with a Tier One contractor or client.
• Experience with regulatory authorities, preferably NSW Alpine region.
• Proven project management and contractor management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation of the Biodiversity Management Plan (BMP) and related sub-plans, including monitoring for threatened species, weeds and flora.
• Lead the preparation of timely annual reporting addressing approvals and regulator feedback.
• Serve as a key contact for external regulators and stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coordinate with the contractor to maintain high standards.
• Support oversight of heritage management and coordinate subcontractors; provide ecological, biosecurity, and impact assessment support.
