Job summary

Regional Express (Rex) in Cairns is seeking a Senior Base Engineer to join our Engineering team. The role is full-time and based in Cairns, with responsibilities spanning maintenance planning, compliance, and hands-on aircraft work.

You will lead Cairns engineering activities, ensure regulatory adherence, manage tooling and GSE maintenance programs, and liaise with third party providers. A CASA B1.1 or B2 licence is required, along with proven aircraft maintenance experience and strong

Qualifications

• Requires CASA B1.1 or B2 licence and eligibility for Saab 340 training.
• Proven track record in aircraft and component maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with maintenance procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Provide proactive leadership of Cairns engineering activities and coordinate with teams.
• Review planned maintenance with third-party providers and ensure timely execution.
• Maintain tooling and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) preventative maintenance programs.
• Monitor WHS compliance and investigate safety reports and audit findings.
