Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking a Backup and Data Protection Engineer to join the Digital Modernisation Division. You’ll design, implement, and optimise enterprise backup and data protection services across hybrid environments, focusing on Commvault, cyber resilience, and recoverability to support mission continuity.

You will work in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure governance, compliance, and continuous improvement, contributing to resilient IT operations in complex multi-vendor

Qualifications

• Experience administering and optimising Commvault backup and recovery solutions in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of backup strategies, disaster recovery principles, and cyber resilience like immutability and ransomware protection.
• Technical capability across hybrid environments including on-premises, virtualised, and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
• Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, REST APIs, or IaC) to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise backup and data protection services.
• Manage and optimise Commvault backup solutions, monitoring configuration and recovery issues.
• Support scalable backup strategies across cloud and on‑premises environments aligned to RPO/RTO objectives.
• Drive cyber resilience practices including secure storage, access control, monitoring, and incident response.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver governance, documentation, and continuous improvement of data protection services.
