Job summary

Reapit, a global proptech brand, is seeking a Senior Engineer to design and deliver backend solutions in Australia. You will work on RESTful services, AI-enabled development workflows, and scalable architectures, collaborating across Product, QA, and Operations.

You should bring 7+ years of .NET/C# backend experience, ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, and Docker, with a mindset for SOLID design and distributed systems. Flexible working is offered across Sydney or Brisbane offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years in back-end software development with .NET/C# - Essentia
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and backend services, ideally with ASP.NET Core - Essential. Front-end web application experience, ideally with React, is favourable but not required.
• Experience working with distributed teams.
• Strong proficiency in .NET/C# for backend development, including ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, and SQL Server.
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, with experience in SQL Server and ORM tools such as Entity Framework.
• Understanding of distributed systems (ideally microservices, event-based architecture).
• Experience with testing methodologies (unit/integration/E2E testing, mocking, shift-left).
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and build tools.
• Exposure to public cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and familiarity with IaC tools like CloudFormation, CDK, and Docker.
• Proven experience and strong proficiency in agentic AI development, with an emphasis on improving developer productivity.
• Understanding of SOLID design principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver technical solutions that meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers, QA, and other departments to refine technical requirements and contribute to solution design.
• Analyze technical requirements, conduct research, and estimate effort for planned work.
• Develop technical designs that meet business requirements and architectural standards, ensuring security, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Actively write code and participate in the code review process, applying AI-enabled development workflows.
• Perform rigorous testing and validation of solutions to ensure quality.
• Develop and maintain accurate documentation for engineering projects.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members through collaboration and code reviews.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve performance, maintainability, and engineering effectiveness.
• Contribute to incident investigation and resolution, and support clear stakeholder communication.
• Actively participate in agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.
• Contribute to delivering projects on time and to the required quality standards through strong technical execution and ownership.
• Champion engineering quality and best practices through design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
