Job summary

Balance Recruitment is recruiting a Senior Power BI & Azure Data Engineer to join a large-scale data platform supporting operational decision-making for a respected NSW public service organisation. You will modernise dashboards, optimise data models, and ensure reliable overnight data refreshes.

This hands-on role requires strong Azure Synapse and Databricks skills, PySpark development, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Azure Synapse and Databricks in large-scale data environments.
• Hands-on PySpark development and Delta Lake knowledge essential.
• Strong Power BI dashboard development and optimisation experience.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex Azure Synapse and Databricks platform issues.
• Investigate PySpark, Delta Lake and pipeline failures.
• Redevelop a flagship Power BI dashboard from the ground up.
• Integrate new data sources into an established Azure data platform.
• Document procedures and upskill internal teams.
