Job summary

Hearing Australia in Sydney is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and evolution of our Azure-based data platform. You will shape scalable data solutions enabling trusted reporting, analytics and insights for government-funded hearing services.

You will partner with stakeholders across business and technology teams, translating complex data into valuable information products that support better decisions and improve outcomes for Australians.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data engineering and cloud analytics.
• Hands-on with Azure data ecosystem and Synapse.
• Proven ability to deliver enterprise-grade data products.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain Synapse pipelines, lakehouse solutions and data products.
• Develop and optimise data ingestion, integration and transformation processes.
• Monitor and improve performance, reliability and cost of data platforms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver fit-for-purpose data solutions.
• Apply data engineering best practices including automated testing, data quality, CI/CD.
• Provide technical leadership through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
