Auto Masters Labrador is seeking a skilled technician to join a professional workshop where you can build experience, take on new challenges, and develop a long-term career on the Gold Coast. Key requirements include 5+ years’ workshop experience post apprenticeship, a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, and an unrestricted driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ workshop experience post apprenticeship completion.
• Certificate III or higher in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills.
• Proven ability to support workshop operations and lead by example.
• Experience mentoring apprentices and junior technicians.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Passionate about customer service and quality workmanship.
• Unrestricted driver’s licence.
• Available Monday to Friday and alternate Saturday mornings.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, repairs and maintenance
• Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle faults
• Support the Store Manager with day-to-day workshop operations
• Act as the Store Manager in their absence, ensuring smooth workshop operations and continuity of customer service
• Assist with job allocation and workshop efficiency
• Mentor and support apprentices and junior staff
• Ensure high-quality workmanship and accurate documentation
• Assist customers and front-of-house when required
• Maintain tools, equipment and safety standards
• Contribute to workshop productivity and performance targets
