Job summary

Ocado Group in Australia is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist on a fixed-term contract running through July 2027. You will own Australian payroll delivery, navigate complex awards, and support the transition to a future shared services model from a remote base.

The role can be remote nationwide with training at our Truganina site for a few days during the first month; afterwards, fully remote. You’ll deliver accurate payroll, advise on legislation, manage external providers, and strengthen

Qualifications

• Senior-level end-to-end Australian payroll experience.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and statutory obligations.
• Experience interpreting Enterprise Agreements and Modern Awards.
• Experience managing external payroll providers and audit controls.
• Proficient Excel/Google Sheets with remuneration modelling.
• Experience supporting payroll implementations or transformations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and timely Australian payroll, including reconciliations.
• Manage complex payroll transactions, discrepancies and employee queries.
• Provide expert advice on payroll legislation, Enterprise Agreements and entitlements.
• Support compliance reconciliations and back payments.
• Oversee time and attendance inputs and resolve exceptions.
• Manage external payroll providers and validate outputs.
• Maintain payroll controls, governance reporting and risk oversight.
• Support transition to future shared services with testing and knowledge transfer.
