Job summary

Airservices Australia is seeking a Senior Engineering Specialist to provide technical leadership across the lifecycle of mission-critical Air Traffic Management systems. You will guide delivery, integration, acceptance, and operational readiness, becoming the trusted technical authority for sustainment and continuous improvement.

This role blends project delivery, systems engineering, and stakeholder engagement, influencing outcomes across aviation safety and performance nationwide.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in systems engineering, software-intensive systems, or complex operational technology environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to manage risk, change control, and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the engineering lifecycle from design to deployment and operational support.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for assigned systems and capabilities.
• Drive governance activities, technical reviews, assurance activities, and acceptance processes.
• Support site deployments and commissioning across operational environments.
• Manage technical risks, issues, dependencies, and change activities to ensure successful outcomes.
• Maintain configuration management and system integrity throughout the lifecycle.
• Provide expert technical advice to engineering, operations, program, and executive stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety, security, regulatory, and quality requirements.
• Lead incident investigations, problem management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support long-term sustainment and evolution of critical aerodrome and ATC systems.
