Job summary

DLA Piper Australia is seeking a Senior Associate to join our Melbourne office, focusing on complex regulatory investigations, enforcement proceedings and high-profile litigation. You will work with ASIC matters, advise clients, regulators, and counsel, and collaborate across Australia and our global network.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years' PQE in disputes, litigation or regulatory practice, with strong drafting, stakeholder management, and mentoring abilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' PQE gained in a leading disputes, litigation or regulatory practice.
• Experience in regulatory investigations, enforcement matters, commercial litigation or competition and consumer law.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent drafting, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Sound commercial judgement and the confidence to take ownership of complex matters.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to outstanding client service.
• An interest in mentoring and supporting the development of junior lawyers.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on complex regulatory enforcement matters, investigations and commercial litigation.
• Act for regulators in high-profile enforcement proceedings and investigations.
• Manage key workstreams across Federal Court litigation, regulatory inquiries and contested proceedings.
• Work directly with clients, counsel and regulators to develop and implement litigation strategies.
• Build trusted client relationships and contribute to exceptional service delivery.
• Support the development of junior lawyers and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
• Collaborate with litigation and regulatory specialists across Australia and internationally.
