Montgomery, a leading independent Australian law firm, is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Real Estate & Projects team in Melbourne or Sydney. You will work with Partners and a national team on high-value property transactions and leasing, and you will mentor junior lawyers while delivering practical, client-focused advice.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' post-admission experience in private practice or in-house teams.
• Strong experience in front-end commercial property matters including acquisitions, disposals and leasing.
• Understanding of complex property transactions, development structures and the real estate market.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and transaction management skills.
• Ability to mentor junior lawyers and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team.

The Team

The Real Estate & Projects team advises major domestic and international corporate, institutional and government clients on complex property transactions, developments and infrastructure projects. The practice covers high-value acquisitions and disposals, property development and complex leasing.

The Role

An excellent opportunity exists for a Senior Associate (5+ PAE) to join a highly regarded Real Estate & Projects practice in Melbourne or Sydney.

Working closely with experienced Partners and a collaborative national team, you will:

• Advise on complex commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, developments and leasing matters.
• Act on high-value capital transactions and major property developments for corporate, institutional and government clients.
• Draft, review and negotiate development agreements and commercial leasing arrangements.
• Assist with property due diligence and manage significant property portfolios.

About you

Ideally, you will have 5+ years' post-admission experience gained within a well-regarded private practice or in-house legal team.

Additionally, you will have:

• Strong experience in front-end commercial property matters, particularly acquisitions, disposals and leasing.
